RF Controls, LLC, was formed in 2004 by Tom Ellinwood and Graham Bloy, who have proven track records in business leadership and technology innovation. Auto-ID industry veteran Chris Hook joined RF Controls in 2007 to spearhead business development activities.
As a result of about 20 man-years of intensive product development effort, and the investment of millions of dollars, RF Controls has created an innovative smart antenna system that will be applied to a range of wireless communications applications.
Our initial focus has been on ultra high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) applications, including inventory monitoring and tracking, in both static and dynamic environments.
The system is standards based, and achieves exceptionally long read range for passive and battery assisted passive (BAP) UHF RFID tags, plus precise three dimensional (3D) location of tags (tagged items). This gives rise to truly automated zonal, 3D real-time monitoring system, and creates a suite of new opportunities for the application of low cost passive UHF tags, to identify, locate & track:
| Identify |
Uniquely identify multiple tagged items. |
| Locate |
Accurately ascertain the present location of those tagged items in three dimensions. |
| Track |
Track the movement of tagged items concurrently. |
The company is based in St. Louis, MO. In addition to product development and test facilities, RF Controls operates from offices provided by The Incubation Factory, which is a “go to market” business and technology incubator specializing in high-growth, business-to-business opportunities. The Incubation Factory works with independent entrepreneurs, investors, private and public companies as well as universities.
