How RF Controls Technology Paves the Way for the “Internet of Everything.”
According to a recent white paper from CISCO, the next wave of dramatic Internet growth will involve the connection of people, processes, data and things, resulting in the “Internet of Everything.” While people are connecting to each other through technology in new and different ways every day, almost all the world’s physical objects remain unconnected. CISCO believes that the knowledge created by connecting with these things can generate $14.4 trillion in value (higher revenues and lower costs) in the next 10 years. That includes a $2.7 trillion opportunity within the supply chain through better tracking and management of inventory.
This is precisely where RF Controls technology comes in. Our real time location system uses smart, overhead-mounted antennas to read hundreds of thousands of ultra-high frequency passive RFID tags at the same time, from long distances, and with pinpoint accuracy. This ability to capture real-time inventory data across a wide area (retail store, distribution center, manufacturing floor, etc) is a core enabler of the Internet of Everything. You can’t manage what you can’t measure, and you can’t measure what you can’t see.
